Not Much Going On

We're gearing up for all the end-of-the-school-year activities and the beginning of summer fun. May will be busy and I hope to catch photos of every little thing, but for now we're just enjoying the beautiful, warm spring weather that has come our way. Watch for future postings of all the kids. In the meantime, check out the Chase Family blog (link at right) for pictures of some of us at Lincoln's (very late) birthday party today.

A Rainbow to Remember

Here's a picture of last night's double rainbow--the most vivid one ever! It was fully complete (both arcs) and just enormous! A real treat after a dismally gray day.

Katie & Dave and Steve & Debbie met us at Leatherby's for ice cream and presents. What a great night!

At Duke's Lanes

Eliah spent almost his entire birthday weekend with his great friend Colby. They started out the festivities with a trip to Ya's favorite bowling alley. They came out smelling like greasy french fries and cigarettes. I made them each take a shower afterward!

Early Birthday Present

Dave Chase spent three hours setting this basketball standard up for Eliah. (Thank you, Superman!) My pictures are blurry but they show the true joy of the moment. It's a great relief to know we no longer have the only child in the world without his own hoop.

Ana's "Fancy Boots"

It rained last week, so Ana grabbed her water shoes and asked to go outside. I think she thinks they're rain boots because she calls them her "fancy boots."

On the Merry-Go-Round

Eliah and Ana before and after she realized it was actually a ride that moved. (I climbed in with them, and everything was O.K.)

Mamoo's Grandchildren

Here are a few shots of us all gathered at my dad's then later at the "Cement Slide Park," a favorite of Mamoo's.

At Home for Mamoo's Funeral

My dear grandmother (and the kids' great-grandmother) passed away March 23. We went to California for her funeral and a subsequent cousins' reunion. There is no doubt Mamoo just loved that we all got together in her honor. As you can see from the photos, we did not allow our grief for losing her to get in the way of enjoying the family togetherness.

Matthew, Abbie and Meili practicing their song for the funeral. The trio was beautiful.
