Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny arrived early then we all made it to church, where we properly celebrated the Resurrection. What a beautiful day! Home again, where we admired (then devoured) my homemade rabbit dip tray. He was a cutie, wasn't he?

A Date with Destiny

These two have been friends for a long time now so it was inevitable that they go to Prom together. Kason and Meili. What a good-looking couple. I sang in the choir during church today and looked down at her beaming face for an hour and could tell she had a wonderful time.

A Date with Debbie

I'm so grateful for Debbie and the magic she works on Meili's hair before her big dates. I'm afraid we're starting to take her for granted. (Never!) I love these moments.

Somebody's 15!

This is a year of shocking revelations. Not only do I have a daughter looking at colleges, I have a son turning 15. This should be an eventful year for Ya. He starts his sophomore year at the high school in August. With any luck, he'll earn his Eagle this fall and start driving with a learner's permit. Maybe, just maybe, he'll take out the trash without being asked. But maybe not, and that's OK--just for today.

Forgot to get a "5." Whoops!

carrot cake--it was delicious!

Go, Aggies?

We have officially begun the college search, and it's almost too much to fathom. Wasn't Meili just giving her 5th-grade "graduation" speech? Luckily, our sweet neighbors are in the same boat. We took a couple days and headed up to Logan to check out Utah State. Pretty fun campus tour, and the ice cream is as good as they promised.

Fundraiser

Eliah needs to earn some pizza money for his Eagle project, so Daryl offered to pay him if he organized a crew to level out our dirt pile (see December 11 post). With the help of the neighbors and Meili's friends (who serenaded us the entire time), he got it done.

Spooky Cat

Our (best) cat just celebrated his 11th birthday, on April 1st. He still guards our home well and is ready to take on Katie's 100-pound dog any day, despite some narrow escapes. Over the years, he's had a broken jaw, several broken teeth, and a broken pelvis, as well as multiple life-threatening infections from bites. These are always head injuries--he doesn't run from his enemies. He's never figured out he's declawed.

This is also the same cat that goes perfectly limp in the arms of Scout and Ana. He patiently endures the indignity of being cradled like a newborn. Sweetest thing ever. I've got to post a picture of that sight.

Guess It's Never Gonna Stop

Another storm brought enough snow to get creative in the backyard. These pictures perfectly illustrate each attitude and sensibility.

Taking Aim

Ana setting up for a great shot with her marshmallow gun. She's got Linc covered, for sure. Love this picture of them at Lincoln's bday party.
